Focus on Prayer for Our Country's
Specific Needs (Introduction)
I will teach you to intercede in power.
I will teach you how to pray.
I will arrange for you to communicate and share with those who commit to intercede for the same area as you.
"Jesus Wants You"
Come, follow me, and I will make you fishers of men!
The Lord is initiating a new focus for communal prayer in Detroit. He has shown us that we are only using about 20% of the power entrusted to us in the use of the charisms. He has directed us to focus our prayer on twelve problem areas in our country. We are being asked to make a
one year commitment to pray for an area of our choice during our personal daily prayer time. Our prayers would be joined with the prayers of others who have committed themselves to pray for that particular area also. ("I tell you solemnly once again, if two of you on earth agree to ask anything at all, it will be granted to you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three meet in my name, I shall be there with them." Matt. 18:19 "If you ask for anything in my name, I will do it." John 14:14)
Some of the directives as to how to pray in the power of God would be through using our three main sources of power: the Blood, the Name, and the Word.
The Blood: The antiseptic that protects, cleans, and purifies. That invisible hedge of protection covering us.
The Name of Jesus: Carries the authority, the anointed power, and the glory of God.
The Word: Gives life, healing, and truth to that for which we are praying.
A prophecy was proclaimed a few years ago which says: "The trumpet has sounded. The angels are at attention. They are waiting for us to
ask that the power of God would be manifest on the earth. The heavenly armies of angels and saints join us against the sovereignties, principalities and powers that attempt to rule the world. The battle is the Lord's. Let us in the name of Jesus speak their demise. Speak and know the enemy is defeated. Know who you are and for whom you speak." We are enlisting in this army of saints all those who hear the call to serve in their hearts.
Bishop Carter of Kingston, Jamaica, now retired, stated to a
group of charismatic people in August, 2004, "In all the history of
mankind, there is always a remnant that changes the course of nations." He
looked at the people sitting before him and said, "You are that people. You
are those disciples, called, chosen, and empowered to change the course of
history." Prayerfully consider one of the areas listed on the next page for which you will make a daily prayer commitment. Call the leader of that particular area, and sign up with her/him. Let us focus our prayer power on
"TAKE BACK THE LAND." (See Psalm 37)
