Father Alex Kratz,
O.F.M.,
is a Franciscan priest in residence at
St. Aloysius Parish in downtown Detroit.
Born and raised in Cincinnati to an
Italian mother and American father, Fr.
Alex learned Italian as his first
language and was accustomed to traveling
every summer to Italy to visit
relatives. This experience gave him a
global orientation, a love for travel
and different cultures.
In 1998 Fr. Alex made solemn vows
as a Franciscan Friar and later that
year was ordained a deacon. In the
summer of 1999 Fr. Alex was assigned to
St. Michael Parish (now Transfiguration
Parish) in Southfield, Michigan. Later
that year in November, Fr. Alex was
ordained a priest and served for almost
4 years as Associate Pastor there.
Fr. Alex has spent considerable
time in the Middle East learning how
Western Christians could better support
the Mother Church of Jerusalem. Much of
his time was spent learning Arabic and
studying the history, culture and
geography of the region.
Fr. Alex has also heard the call
from God to respond to the summons of
the late Pope John Paul II to promote
the New Evangelization. In 2006 he
joined the Mobile Evangelization Team
for the Archdiocese of Detroit to teach
parishes about Catholic Evangelization.
Father engages in Ministry of the Word
by giving missions, retreats, Bible
studies, talks and spiritual direction.
Freedom & Healing Through
Forgiveness Hosted by Fr. Gregory Bramlage and
"Word of God Prayer Ministry"
East Central H. S. Performing Arts Center St. Leon, Indiana
Featured speaker is
Immaculee Iligagiza.
Immaculee Ilibagiza is a
living example of faith put into action. Her life was
transformed dramatically during the 1994 Rwanda genocide
where she and seven other women spent 91 days huddled
silently together in the cramped bathroom of a local
pastor's house. She is the author of "Left to Tell:
Discovering God Amidst the Rwandan Holocaust", "Led by
Faith: Rising from the ashes of the Rwandan Genocide" and
"Our Lady of Kibeho: Mary speaks to the world from the Heart
of Africa"
Today Immaculate is
regarded as one of world's leading speakers on peace, faith,
and forgiveness. She has shared her universal message with
world dignitaries, school children, multinational
corporations, churches, and at many conferences. Immaculée
works hard to spread her message and to raise money for her
Left to Tell Charitable Fund which directly benefits the
children orphaned by the genocide.

Becoming Transformed by God’s Healing Love
Often times we live imprisoned in the hurts of our past. In this unfreedom,
we cannot receive the very gift Jesus came to bring us. “I have come that
you may have life, and have it to the full.” John 10:10

What is
inner healing prayer? Inner healing prayer is asking God to
heal emotional, mental or spiritual
brokenness and healing those hurts and
painful memories in your life that have
interfered or prevented you from living
in the full beauty that God created. It
is God’s love drawing you closer to Him
in love, peace, and grace. Inner healing
is coming to know God uniquely loves
you. Fr. John Esper
and Deborah Tourville –
experienced retreat leaders and
*spiritual directors involved in the
healing/inner healing ministry for over
12 years. Each brings a unique gift to
this ministry through prayer,
discernment and preaching.
Suggested Donation: $180 (includes
private room/bath, all meals,
conferences, and more) Register by calling Rose Ann Miller,

The promise is for you, for you who want something
more
For you who know that you have a thirst that has not yet
been satisfied
For you who have heard of water that refreshes beyond compare
For you who feel burdened, who feel that you have reached the
depths and want to rise
For you who are on top of the world, but who know that all the
world does not have enough
For you who are full of fears and anxieties,
For you who feel hardened and closed
For you who are full of eagerness and enthusiasm,
For you who want all a human being can have.@

the case. People must know that this is part
of our Catholic Christian inheritance. Your

vWhat
sort of evangelistic programs does your prayer group
engage in?
vHow do
individual members of your prayer community work to
bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to others?
vWhat
projects does your prayer group embrace to cooperate
with the evangelization efforts of your parish?
This column in the DCCR Bulletin would like to publish
your prayer group’s answers to the above questions. We
can learn from one another, get new ideas from one
another, and be motivated by the actions and examples of
what we share. Please submit accounts of your
evangelization efforts to the DCCR Center, to the
attention of the Bulletin Editor. Thank you.
There is no subscription fee for the Detroit Catholic

printing and mailing costs continue to rise, we would be
grateful for a minimal annual contribution of $10.00 for

Lord continue to bless you and your family with the graces
